Rosatom gets license for construction of Akkuyu’s 4th reactor
MOSCOW, Oct 29 (PRIME) -- Russian state nuclear power corporation Rosatom’s project company Akkuyu Nuclear has received a permit for construction of a fourth reactor of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, Akkuyu Nuclear said in a statement on Friday.
The company said that the nuclear regulation council has coordinated provision of the license for construction of a reactor on Akkuyu Nuclear, and that the license allows it to start construction.
Akkuyu is Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, located in the region of Mersin. Russia’s nuclear power company Rosatom is in charge of construction of the plant’s four reactors.
